Questions and corrections make every guide clearer. Use the form below and include enough detail to picture the problem.
What this site is, and what it is not
First Layer Guide is a publication. Everything here is written guidance you read and apply yourself, on your own machine. To be explicit about what we do not offer:
- No repair or callout service. We do not visit, we do not take machines in, and we do not connect to a printer remotely to fix it for you.
- No hardware sales. We do not sell printers, spare parts, nozzles or filament, and we do not resell or source them on your behalf.
- No quotes or paid work. We do not price jobs, issue estimates, take on print-on-demand orders or provide commercial engineering advice.
We also cannot help with emergencies, mains electrical work or anything that belongs with your manufacturer’s warranty support. If a machine is smoking, sparking or overheating, disconnect it and contact the manufacturer.
For a printing question
Include the printer model, nozzle size, material, slicer profile and the exact layer where the problem appears. Describe what you observed before listing the settings you changed.
For a correction
Link to the page and identify the sentence or step. If a manufacturer document supports the correction, include its public URL. Corrections are the most useful mail we get.
What to expect
Guides are written and maintained by one person, so a reply can take a few days. Answers point you to the checks worth running next; they are not a diagnosis of your specific machine.
Never send passwords, API keys, serial numbers, order records or private account details.
